Prynhawn da families,

We are so looking forward to welcoming everyone back tomorrow and we are looking forward to what should be a much more ‘normal’ school year.

No more groups ‘A’ and ‘B’:

  • School doors will open for all year groups at 8:40 and doors will close at 8:50. If you do happen to be running a bit late, please go to the school office.
  • School will finish at 3pm (Nursery 11:20am)

Most recent guidance for school means some Covid regulations remain:

  • Please continue to use the one-way system when entering and leaving the school yard (gate closest the school carpark as entrance and other 2 gates for exits)
  • Masks/face coverings must still be worn on the school yard by adults (apart from those exempt)
  • If possible only 1 adult per family to come on to the yard to pick up your child(ren)

https://gov.wales/operational-guidance-schools-and-settings-html#section-74954 ‘Visitors to the school setting should use a face covering, including parents/carers when dropping off and picking up learners. Schools and settings should take steps to encourage parents/carers to not remain on the premises/at the gates longer than necessary especially when dropping off/collecting children.’

https://gov.wales/operational-guidance-schools-and-settings-html#section-74954 When not to come to school:

  • learners, staff and other adults should not come into a school/setting if they:
    • have COVID-19 symptoms
    • if they live with someone who has symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19 – unless they are fully vaccinated or are under 18
  • learners, staff and other adults must not come into a school/setting if they:
    • have tested positive for COVID-19
    • have been contacted by the TTP service and told to self-isolate
  • anyone developing COVID-19 symptoms during the school day should be sent home immediately

PE ~ information about which day your child will have PE will be shared with individual classes. On the day(s) your child has PE, they will be able to come into school in their PE kit rather than having to change in school. Kits are available from our uniform supplier: MAES-Y-LLAN – OurSchoolwear

School meals

We are still aiming to go cashless in the school office; therefore, children wishing to have a school meal will need to have this paid for and ordered in advance using the parentpay website.

For any new starters, your parent pay activation code will be sent via email by Friday 3rd September. Please ensure you are signed up to parentpay as we will be using this for all payments to school.

Any children entering reception this year who think they may be entitled to free school meals will need to put in an application, even if they have older siblings in receipt of free school meals. Please apply online at Free school meals | Wrexham County Borough Council or contact the school office on 01978 820991 for more information.

Snack will be available to children in both key stages at a cost of £7 for this first half term. Please pay this in advance using the parentpay website if you wish your child to have snack provided at school.

As we are a healthy school, any snack brought from home should be fruit or vegetables only.
