I am very happy to welcome you and your children to our class. I know that handing your son or daughter over to school is a daunting experience, however, we are here to make this as easy a transition as possible. The year ahead looks very exciting and we cannot wait to get started!
Here are a few things to help you get organised:
Mindful Monday
Starting our week off we will complete activities from My Happy Mind. This will allow us to learn all about our feelings, emotions and about positive, mental well-being.
Tuffy Tuesday
On Tuesday’s we will be completing activities on our large Tuff trays – these will relate to all of our different subjects and help us to work in small groups, alone or with an adult.
Wellie Wednesday
We will be outside all morning. Please can you send your child into school in outdoor clothes. We will be out for the whole morning, so please be suitable for the weather and nothing new (we will probably get very mucky!) May I suggest a pair of wellies and a waterproof suit (fully labelled with your child’s name).
Things on Thursday
We will be completing crafting activities. If you have any crafty bits that you have finished with or could send in any cardboard boxes, toilet rolls … etc, this would be great!
Foodie Friday
On Friday’s we will be cooking topic related food. Please send in a fully labelled plastic tub or something similar, so your child can bring home their tasty treats.
Staff in our class
We have a number of staff in our class, Mrs Guiel – class teacher, Mrs Tilston – HLTA, Mrs Harper – TA and Miss Edwards – TA. We will be on the door in the morning when you drop off or pick up, so please catch us if you have any queries or questions. Snack
We will provide snack in class, this will be fruit and either water or milk. On a Friday we will have something a little different, such as yogurts, toast, cheese and crackers. This must be paid for in advance via the ParentPay app.
Our topic this half term is ‘Incredible Me!’ children will learn about themselves and their friends. We will discuss the wonderful things about them and share these amazing things in class. We will also look at the season of Autumn, looking at how the world around us changes.
What an exciting start to your child’s schooling! We cannot wait to start and to meet you all!
