Spring Term 1
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and wishing you a Happy New Year.
This term we will be covering the Topic of ‘Under the Sea’. We will be reading a range of books based on creatures from the sea, such as: The Rainbow Fish, Commotion in the Ocean, The Snail and the Whale.
In literacy we will be reading the story the ‘The Rainbow Fish’.
In maths we will be learning place value using tens and ones. We will be comparing objects up to 50 and exploring length and height as well as looking at 2d and 3D shapes.
In Creative Development we will be creating sea creatures using recycled materials, using bubble wrap for a water effect and explore different materials.
In knowledge and understanding of the World we will explore the material of water. We will investigate the effects rubbish has on habitats and the environment.
In PE we will be playing Pirate Games, moving like fish and dancing to Commotion in the Ocean.
In Personal, Social and Well-being we will be learning about how to care for the environment and prevent pollution of the seas. We will be reading the story of Jonah and the Whale.
In ICT we will be learning how to code using Turtle Logo to give instructions to move direction.
Autumn Term 1
Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Summer holiday full of fun!
This term we will be covering the topic of ‘Harvest’, as Autumn is a wonderful time of year.
In literacy we will be reading the story the ‘Little Red Hen’ and learn about speech marks. We will be practising how to spell CVC words using the characters: Hen, Dog, Cat.
In maths we will be learning our number bonds to 10 and counting up to 20 and beyond.
In Creative Development we will be painting with straw and experimenting with colours.
In PE we will be learning how to make different shapes and basic gym actions.
In Personal, Social and Well-being we will be learning about helping others and discussing our own and other peoples feelings.
In ICT we will be learning how to upload our work onto Class Seesaw.
