Summer Term

Welcome back! I can’t believe we’re at the summer term already! This year has flown!

This term we will be focusing on the book How To Train Your Dragon. The books are set in a fictional Vikingworld, The Isle Of Berk, and focus on the experiences of protagonist Hiccup as he overcomes great obstacles on his journey of Becoming a Hero, the Hard Way.

This is one of my favourite topics and I can’t wait to see what we achieve as a class in our Summer Term!

PE will continue to be on a Wednesday with Mrs R Jones! Please can all children come into school in suitable PE kit on these days.

As the warmer weather approaches, 2 water bottles may be a good idea for the children.

As always if there are any problems, please feel free to contact me via Dojo! If you’d prefer to send me an email, my address is postleh@hwbcymru.net

Thank you!

Curriculum Overview Summer Term 2021

Welcome back!

I hope you all managed to enjoy some of the summer in these strange times and are ready for this year in primary school.

I’m so looking forward to this new and exciting year ahead, as we’ve got some great topics lined up, and will hopefully be able to enjoy some of the other activities that are so looked forward to in the juniors.

Our topic this term is ‘The Firework Makers Daughter’, Bali and Indonesia and Volcanoes. Our focus will be story writing and explanation texts about how a volcano erupts. Our topic lessons will have a mainly geographical and religious base and we will be looking into Diwali and creating Balinese masks too!

As far as the weekly timetable is concerned, I just want to pass on the following information:

Wednesdays – P.E. kits are needed to be worn to school (with Mrs Jones)

Homework –With regards to homework, the weekly challenges will continue to be reading, although the children are welcome to do any research around ‘The Firework Makers Daughter’, Bali and Indonesia or Volcanoes at home too. Homework can be done on paper, via Seesaw, on HWB or can be emailed directly to me on my class email –postleh@hwbcymru.net

The children need to have their Reading Records signed. For every entry in their Reading Record, they will receive a star on their chart, which will go towards a prize draw in class on a Friday.

Lastly, I would just like to say that my DOJO is open frequently if you have and concerns or questions.

You can also contact me through the above email address.

Diolch yn fawr,

Miss Postle
