Croeso i Dosbarth Criccieth
Welcome back to the 21/22 school year! After a topsy turvey 18 months I am really looking forward to starting September with a little bit more normality! ☺️
This year we’ll be looking at 3 very exciting topics:
•“A world of Pure Imagination” – Charlie & The Chocolate Factory
•“Hieroglyphics & The Pyramids” – Ancient Egypt
•“What Lurks In The Rainforest/ Chester Zoo” – Our Zoo!
Throughout these topics we’ll look at geography, history, art, design technology, science, literacy, numeracy and welsh! It is set to be a jam packed year and hopefully we can squeeze in a trip or two as well!
On Tuesdays we will have PE – children are encourage to come into school in their school PE kit for those days, rather than changing in school.
The school P.E kit is as follows:
Royal blue T shirt and shorts, and pumps or trainers. Children may bring a navy or black tracksuit for outdoor P.E. in the winter months.
The link below will take you to the school ordering site;
We are still aiming to go cashless in the school office; therefore, children wishing to have a school meal will need to have this paid for and ordered in advance using the parentpay website.
Snack is available to children in Year 3/4 but must be paid for in advance using the ParentPay website! Can I just politely remind you that as part of the our healthy schools policy, snack should be a piece of fruit or vegetables – not cereal bars/crisps/chocolates etc. Any queries please don’t hesitate to message me on Dojo or contact me by email!
The children will have access to their water bottles during the day. As part of our healthy school policy please ensure their bottles are filled with just water – no juice/pop/ squash. It is fine for the children to have a different drink for their lunchtime and sometimes sugar free juice is a nice alternative!
Reading books and records need to be in school daily. I aim to do my best to read with as many children as possible daily. Children will take responsibility for letting me know when they’ve finished a book and it needs changing. Inside all of the reading records there is an information sheet for pointers with reading. Each child will also have a ‘KS2 Readers’ bookmark with questions you can ask when reading with your child. The idea behind these questions is to support comprehension and understanding of what they are reading.
