Dosbarth Penrhyn – Mrs M Jones

Croeso i Dosbarth Penrhyn!

Summer Term Remote learning

Welcome back! I hope you have all had a lovely Easter break!

After a very close poll on seesaw, the Topic of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban has won by 14 votes to 7.

Find below a grid of exciting activities for you to choose from. I am not expecting you to do them all, treat them like a menu and do the activities you are most excited by. I would like the Maths and Literacy to be done as a priority though please (especially the MyMaths activities and the reading and spelling).

I will be uploading the weekly Science activities directly to Seesaw and spelling lists will be sent to parents on Dojo.

I cannot wait to see how you get on with these activities. Remember to keep a look out for each new chapter of Harry Potter which I will be uploading to Seesaw every Monday morning.

Pob lwc pawb and keep in touch 🙂

Spring 2020

Welcome back to another exciting term in Dosbarth Penrhyn!

There will be some changes to our weekly timetable this term and these are as follows:

  • We will no longer be doing outdoor learning on a Tuesday afternoon. Instead, Mr Hamilton will be covering the Science topic this term, which may include some elements of outdoor learning on occasion. Advance notice will be given if children need to bring outdoor learning clothes with them.

  • PE will now take place on a Wednesday afternoon instead of a Monday. All children need to have their PE kits with them on this day every week, which should be suitable for both indoor and outdoor PE.

  • Dosbarth Penrhyn will be going swimming this term. This will take place every Friday morning so children will need to bring the following with them: A swimming costume (swimming shorts or a one-piece swimming costume); a towel and a hairbrush if needed. Children will also need to bring a weekly contribution of £2 towards the cost of the transport to and from the swimming pool.

In other news, we have two very awesome class trips coming up this term including a trip to Chester Zoo and of course, our exciting residential trip to Glan Llyn in March. Further details about both will be coming home in due course.

As always, my door is open should you have any concerns this term and I am also contactable on Class Dojo and via email at jonesc3693@hwbmail.net. Details of our upcoming topics and subject coverage can be found below.

Spring Term 2020

Homework information – Presentation on the History of Transport

Homework project

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Welcome back! I hope you have all had a fantastic summer and you’re ready to get stuck into our exciting Autumn Term topic! I know I am!

Firstly, let’s take a quick look at some important information that will keep you ahead of the game and fully prepared this term.

Monday: Library visit (am) – bring your book and library card with you.

PE with Miss Thomas (pm) Make sure you have the correct kit in school with you.

Tuesday: Outdoor learning with Mr Hamilton (pm)  – you can come into school wearing your forest school/outdoor clothes. This should include old, warm clothing, wellies or old boots/trainers, as children will be out in various weathers and may be getting dirty. We also ask that children bring a change of shoes on this day to be worn indoors.

Homework: Reading at home will be our main homework priority this term; however, other project based homework may be sent home later in the term. TT Rockstars will be running again this term and I would strongly recommend using this at home too, to really master those times tables.

If parents have any concerns or would like an informal chat about their child’s progress, my door is always open. I am also contactable on Class Dojo and via email at jonesc3693@hwbmail.net. It would be great to see all parents signing up to Class Dojo to keep updated with our exciting class projects as they are happening.

Diolch yn fawr,

Mrs Jones
