Just to clarify, it is only Foundation Phase children who will be returning to school; Nursery children this Friday and Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children on Monday 1st March.
If your child is in Miss Blackwell’s mixed Y2/3 class and they are a Year 3 pupil, they will not be returning to school next week regardless of their age. If you are unsure about which year group your child is in please email the school office or send a Dojo message to their class teacher.
KS2 children (Year 3 – Year 6) hopefully will be able to return to school on Monday 15th March, but again this depends on Covid-related data, so we all need to continue following the current Alert L4 guidelines in order to allow our older children to return to school.
First Minister Mark Drakeford confirmed, “we hope more primary school children (Year 3, 4, 5 & 6) and older students will be able to return from 15 March.”
Schools: coronavirus guidance
Can children mix in their school bubbles outside school?
No, out of school restrictions identical to those ‘stay at home’ requirements imposed on the general population, must be applied rigorously. Contact groups (‘school bubbles’) only apply within the school setting. ~ the more we can all abide by and follow these requirements, the quicker we get all our children back into school
Why are you prioritising foundation phase learners return to school after the February half term?
We have prioritised our youngest learners because of the evidence on transmission in younger children, and also because we know they find it difficult to learn remotely.
