Welcome to Year 2/3!
Welcome to our Year 2/3 class! I’m Mrs Steele, and I’m looking forward to a fantastic year of learning, exploring and having fun together.
Our Teaching Assistant will be confirmed soon.
We have lots of exciting opportunities planned throughout the year. PE takes place on Mondays, and Outdoor Learning is on Wednesdays, so we’ll be spending plenty of time developing our skills both inside and outside the classroom.
Reading is a very important part of our learning, and we really encourage you to read at home as often as possible. Please bring reading books into school every day. We will aim to change books approximately once a week, depending on each child’s reading needs and progress.
We’re excited about the year ahead and can’t wait to see all the wonderful things we can achieve together!

Reading
Reading books come home daily, I would love for you to read a couple of pages each day with your child, as this really helps them to access the curriculum we provide. Please jot down how they got on in their reading records.
Outdoor Learning is on a Wednesday. Children should come to school in some old clothes. Layers are good as we never know what the weather will be like. Please ensure your child has a coat and a spare pair of shoes, either wellies or another pair of shoes that can get dirty.
