Hello, my name is Mrs Rolls and I feel incredibly proud and excited to be the Headteacher of Ysgol Maes y Llan.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: every child deserves to feel happy, safe, and valued in school. Primary education is such a special time in a child’s life, and I see it as our job to nurture their curiosity, encourage their individuality, and give them the confidence to believe in themselves.
One of the things I love most about working in education is watching children discover new things – whether that’s solving a tricky problem, learning a new skill, or showing kindness to a friend. Those moments remind me why schools are such magical places.
I know that a successful school is built on strong relationships, and I look forward to working closely with families, staff, governors, and the wider community. Together, we can make sure our children have the very best opportunities to thrive.
For the last 20 years I have taught in Park CP School, teaching from Nursery to Year 6. I have a love for the outdoors and try, at every opportunity, to take the learning outside with activities in the forest school area or with the children growing their own vegetables in the polytunnel. I have also worked with both Chester and Wrexham university, mentoring student teachers and helping them to achieve their qualifications.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends as well as being in the great outdoors. I have two boys, who like to keep me busy and to relax, I love spending time at the seaside reading a great book.
