Newyddion – News

Today we have been using counters and teddies to start looking at fractions. We have been splitting them up into equal and unequal parts. We worked with partners to find as many ways as we could. 

In Maths we have been learning about odds and evens. The children have created an odd and even town using numicon, as well as sorting the numicon. Some children have grouped objects and worked out if the total is odd or even.

We have been enjoying the outdoor classroom, where the children have been engaging in imaginative and creative play during Continuous Provision.  We have been creating Spring drinks and potions using natural materials, inspiring curiosity and creativity.  We are growing carrots and beans, learning about all they need to grow well.  Water play using guttering and … Read more

This week we have been looking at the environment and what we can do to help it or harm it. We sorted through different pictures of things that help the planet and things that don’t help the planet, such as picking up litter and wasting water. We had to work as a team. 

The classroom has been a hive of activity for our Make Do & Mend Technology project the last couple of weeks. We have been learning our two times tables and applying this to doubling and halving.

This week we have been practising our measuring. We have used rulers and metre sticks to measure different objects around the room. Children have also been estimating how long/tall/short different objects are, then checking if they are correct.
